communist manifesto and the realizations it has dawned on me
today in ap english we were talking about karl marxs communist manifesto and then later in my honors creative writing a discussion arose involving the government and salaries and health care and capitalism and what not. they were talking specifically about how the profession was declining and how wrong it was that the universal healthcare was declining the profits made by doctors. they were arguing that they are one of the highest demand professions there are, theres a lot training required, and its one of the most valuable jobs to be done for others. why should these people (even though they already have salaries) go and give surgery to this one guy without healthcare for free and use hours of his time on somebody who cant even pay for themselves? i was thinking about this last part and to be honest, i was disgusted with the few of my classmates for these words. it should be the biggest honor in the world to have the chance to be able to make a difference for a fellow human in a matter of life and death and be one of the few with the select capabilities to do so. the fact that these people are so worried with wealth in favor of the rich that they shouldnt help save the lives of some people without compensation is sick. capitalism has skewed true morals to a disgusting code of self profit and greed.
